I'm the leader of the Synergy project.

Synergy is free and open source software for sharing one mouse and keyboard between multiple computers. Supported on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

comment A synergy alternative that just works?
Be wary of Frank, he seems to be on a personal crusade to eliminate Synergy, and is really quite aggressive about it. Rather than helping us improve, he seems to spout an awful lot of subjective conjecture and over exaggerates about pretty much everything. Synergy is improving all the time. Please stick with free and open source software!

dlamblin, it happens when you Ctrl+C and then start scrolling a split second before you let go of Ctrl. Happens to me from time to time -- it just depends on the user.

Great answer! :) Could you point me to the AC adapter on the UK Apple site? I can't seem to find it... store.apple.com/uk/search?find=mac+mini+power

comment Which ethernet expansion card is compatible with an Apple PowerBook 5300c?
@Simon Sheehan Haha, imagine if I wasn't actually aware of this... Of course it's discontinued, the thing is a relic ;-)

comment Can I use Windows to write Mac floppy disk format?
Thanks, yeah I wanted the authentic floppy experience, but I will definitely be buying an expansion card as I will undoubtedly get bored of using floppies ;-) -- perhaps you could point me in the direction of the correct expansion card?

comment How to get UAC to co-operate with synergy2
Kimvais, you should accept Cody Wilson's answer, as this answer refers to version 1.3 limitations -- so is partially incorrect.

Hmm, it should work fine for win 7. I designed it to work well with both Vista and 7. What problems did you have?

I found one caveat; you'll need to run it as the root user.

@Gordon Davisson This should be an answer; I would have accepted it. I will accept Diago's instead.

Unfortunately Debian media won't boot from the laptop, hence why I cloned from another computer.

comment Is it possible to run Mac OS X 10.5 as a virtual machine on my Mac OS X 10.6 install?
Correction, not a CD, it's a DVD "hardware bundle" -- "not to be sold separately".

My host is 10.6.4 also (on Mac mini 32-bit). Using the Snow Leopard DVD with BETA1 I've finally managed to get to the Welcome screen - hurrah! The text displayed before that was a little scary, something about a BUG (I guess an assertation failed). However, I haven't tried to fully install yet so I might be speaking too soon. Also, I had to change the LAN mode from NAT to Bridged (because of some VirtualBox network error code). I have also tried using the Macbook 10.5 CDs but this brings me to the EFI shell; I guess the disk isn't supported?

With 3.2.8 did you need to disable the EFI option?
