comment How can I completely remove Windows 8.1 so I can install CentOS 7?
Oh, that's because you have changed the default app for .ISO, it will show Burn Image if you set Windows Explorer as the default app. Never mind, it doesn't matter since you've burn them with ImgBurn (which should result in identical DVD had you tried the Windows Explorer route) and it failed anyway. You might wanna try @fixer1234 suggestion since I've seen some vague comments elsewhere about the error message about kernel in CentOS that happened just because you look at it funny. Meanwhile Mint just went OK in anything I've ever thrown it at.

comment Cannot use “Save As” to an FTP network location in Chrome
SMB should be fast enough since it's even possible for me to play games over 200MB through it on laptop.

Yes, whether the FTP is hosted on Android or Windows Server made no difference. On the other hand, Windows apps can write directly into SMB server, so you might want to lookup various Samba implementation in Android

It's called Burn Disc Image

The API used by most apps (actually I never found any that doesn't) for reading and writing files doesn't recognize FTP (or MTP for that matter). File opened are actually downloaded or copied to temporary folder behind the screen

In Windows 8.1 you can even just burn the ISO file directly by right clicking it in Explorer.

comment Should I use 32 or 64 bit Windows?
Unless you need legacy 16 bit apps or old 32 bit apps that just blow up in 64 bit, you'll want 64 bit for performance and security. As for the usable RAM, they are less from installed physical RAM due to hardware shared memory or chipset limitations

comment Delay accessing my second hard disk drive
The delay is normal for a HDD (especially since you're comparing it to SSD). What you can do is get a bigger RAM so Superfetch have enough storage to prefetch the game data into RAM. Bear in mind Superfetch attempt to analyze your pattern, so if you usually play certain games at certain hour, Superfetch will prefetch the files at that time, and when you play other game in unusual hour, it will experience the delay (although it shouldn't afterwards if the pattern continues)

comment What is Windows 10 using my RAM for?
If you check Task Manager in 8/10, the white area is not "idle" RAM, they are mostly cached. Actual idle RAM that don't contain anything is in the right most area. Experiment by opening very large app or dozens of Firefox tab, closing Firefox afterwards. You'll see the right most area at first become large after closing Firefox, and become smaller as superfetch preload apps and files

comment How to connect removable disk to an infected PC
Why not just... boot from a live linux and copy the files there since the windows virus won't run anyway. Or setup a FTP server in the pc and get the files from there

Check Tools-Options-General-Visual Experience, try turning off the visual experience and graphics acceleration checkboxes. Also check for your graphics driver update

comment How does Windows 10 calculate app's battery drain?
It doesn't see Eclipse. It sees JRE running something. And for some reason, probably since JRE is used by various app, Microsoft just elect to exempt JRE from the stat

comment How does Windows 10 calculate app's battery drain?
Photos, Maps and Calendar are Metro app, either the live tile or lock screen notification permission (even if you don't set it for lock screen) will take some CPU time. Meanwhile Windows never really see Eclipse running, it only know JRE is called and running something. Not sure why Microsoft don't log JRE usage though, probably .NET, Flash and Air also exempted.
