Yeah, but that's not the Linux version, that's the Windows version of Picasa you need to run, isn't it? Otherwise why the Wine emulation?

@aib, So this means LocalCommand is executed before the shell starts, or as a sub-shell. Bugger. Not sure how to get beyond this. You could probably get LocalCommand to create a file with your script then, can you?

comment ssh and shell through ssh : how to exit?
@Olivier: Yes, your main process will wait for the background process to stop before exiting. If you want something to keep running after you exit, you might want to try nohup. Not sure it works with ssh though, but give it a try it won't hurt.
