Not quite right. One needs to use both grep --color=always and less -R. Note that grep only knows it is being piped into some other process and the --color=auto option uses solely this information to decide if will output colors or not.

I tried it and it seems to work perfectly. Waiting the end of the download (which I do not need anymore actually) to be sure :) However, I did not changed to HTTP - I mean, I changed, but it kept redirecting to HTTPS. Do you know why your .wgetrc seems to be changing the behavior?

I tried wget --no-parent -r -l 2 -p -k https://developer.mozilla.org/en/XUL_Tutorial/ but it only download the index.html file...

Actually, I thought about counting the number of lines of ps aux output but I was not sure if ps aux would list all processes. Also, I do not know if it is possible to know whether a processes is blocked or running using ps...
