comment Windows XP SP3 slow to login
Good idea, but be careful about disabling services. I once disabled a bunch that I didn't need; then a year later I bought my first Bluetooth device, and it took me a month to realize why I couldn't get it to work. Besides, I have heard it said several times that disabling services looks nice but will usually not give you noticeable results, except perhaps the indexing service.

comment Adding arbitrary search URLs to Firefox search bar
"...which allows you to create searches in the location bar with custom URLs, e.g. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%s." I think I am missing something: this has been natively possible in Firefox since forever? Just go to a search page, like google.com; right click on the blank search field on the page, and pick "Add a keyword for this search". I never understood why people used the search box anyway... what am I missing??

You might need a different identifier for Excel:
#Ifwinactive, Microsoft Excel
might work better. For clarity's sake: the above script carries out a text paste when you press alt+control+V. I tested it in my Excel (2003): it could work differently for your version; then you need to change the letters that Sendinput will type in my code.

Does that stand for Visual Basic? I have no idea how that works. You could easily make a script in Autohotkey:
#IfWinactive, Excel !^v::Sendinput !es{down}{enter} #IfWinactive
Ugh I can't make returns. There need to be returns after Excel and after {enter}. The "code" parts are just to show you where the code begins, they should not be actually in the code themselves.

comment What Chrome password manager fits my requirements?
OK cool. I am with a Dutch bank too. I remember how surprised I was, the first time I realized that I could simply use Paypal with a password, the American way. I would never ever store that in my vault, nor my Ebay password, just to be sure. Nor Amazon.

comment Will the new 13" MacBook Air be enough to develop on and run a LAMP server in a Virtual Machine?
Indeed! You could a regular laptop with a faster CPU for 500... but hey, I think Apple lovers mainly go for the brand and all. Though I must admit that size and weight do matter. But if you are using this laptop always in three different - but fixed and safe - locations, why not buy three regular laptops and keep them where they are? You could just carry your files around on a thumbdrive. And still be saving money. Just saying.

comment Installing PhotoShop CS5 in windows XP error: (when up to 12% of the installation);
Yeah, the error log seems to point into this direction: it wants to install to Win XP 64, but it says that it cannot find it. Check whether you have XP 32 or 64 bit. And check what system requirements are on the box (I thought that the intall disk contained both versions, but who knows...).
