Thanks for replying. I do tend to stay on top of my RSS by reading the feeds as they come in, so it sounds like, at least partially, my vigilance defeats the notion of sparks. However, I do read Reddit, HN, and sometimes Digg - how are feeds like this handled as sparks?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The music player interface on the Apple TV displays the album art on one side, song name, progress bar, etc. About every 30 seconds or so, it flips around and shows the album art on another side. This is so that if you spend lots of time listening to music through your Apple TV your screen won't suffer burn-in. There's also a screen saver that displays your photos when the unit is idle.

It did come up in my search, but the Wikipedia article indicates that the author is a bit or a prima donna and doesn't want to develop the software anymore.
