comment Using vim to delete all lines except those that match an arbitrary set of strings
That was it. I escaped everything in my regex but somehow overlooked the pipe. :)

OMG I forgot to escape the pipe when I tried that. I'll do that now! Thank you.

@spuder thanks, I'm going to mess with a few more settings and will then give a different subnet a try.

comment Does a wireless access point with PoE ports exist?
Thanks for the link. Well, it looks like I'll just wait and see if anyone else has seen one. I'm hoping for something more like what I have built up -- basically a router running DD-WRT, plus 48 and 12VDC power supplies and just one AC power connection. You'd think a company could easily package it up a lot nicer that what I'm creating, but perhaps you're right, and no one really needs something like this (except for me, since I'm picky).

Reading further in that product description, it just puts whatever power you supply on the ethernet cable lines used by PoE. The 802.3af compliant boxes negotiate power requirements with the device at the other end of the cable.

I guess it's just that I was looking for something more nicely packaged so that you don't have N adapters hooked up to N PoE devices, which then has multiple wall warts, etc etc. I wonder what the difference is between active and passive adapters? The link you posted is for a passive adapter which looks a lot different than the one I am currently using -- tp-link.us/products/details/…
