comment How do I two-way sync an iPhone with a Mac?
I always thought that by syncing the iPhone, it was a merge. It doesn't erase any information on either device.

comment How to use a Windows keyboard on Mac OS X?
Try using the Shift key to obtain the alternate key function instead of Alt. However, this doesn't solve the re-mapping problem. It is easy enough to re-map keys using software, but the symbols on the keyboard will be incorrect.

comment Troubleshooting an AHCI eSATA problem in Windows 7
I'm pretty sure it's not a physical connection problem. I am using the same case as before with my previous motherboard and it worked then. I've tried re-installing the sata AHCI drivers for the motherboard but still no luck. I'm stuck. When I turn the drive on whilst plugged into the front port, it doesn't even spin up. Could this be to do with the setting regarding the power source? I seem to recall there are two variations of eSATA, which are power and data attached to motherboard, and data cable only with external PSU. Not sure where these settings are located.

Where, in the BIOS? what you see here is all I see... and if you mean inside Windows 7, yes, yes there are hundreds of menus.

Play some music whilst you are in the Recording tab of the sounds. Does anything show the "volume" bar moving in there?

What sound card do you have? Under control panel, hardware and sound, select the Sound heading.. then in the subsequent window select the recording tab, do you have an item in the recording list called "Wave"? Try setting this to the default recording device, I think this should be equivalent to the XP "What u hear" option.

Does it contain data that you need to retain? If not, I see the Delete volume option is available in your contextual menu...

comment Windows 7 won't show SATA Hard Drive in My Computer
The drive appears to already have two partitions on it. What file system are they currently formatted to? Windows will only be able to deal with FAT32 and NTFS.

comment I've overwritten my Mac OS with Windows Vista, how can I get my Mac OS back?
Oh boy... HFS is the name of the file system that OS X uses... But you're going to ask me what a file system is aren't you? If you didn't have any important files then you should be able to just put in your original CD (although it's a DVD) and re-install OS X (your MAC program)

comment PC won't start after abrupt electricity shutdown
At what point did your PC lose power? Do you get ANY display on the screen? Can you see if there are any lights on your motherboard such as boot status LED's (see motherboard manual)? Was the computer fully booted at the desktop with applications running? This sort of thing is quite hard to diagnose without physical access to the machine. Could be a memory problem, try with one stick instead of two (if you have two).

comment Diagnosing computer freezes
memory modules can often have bad sectors. Firstly, try with just ONE memory module installed. Then try running a memory diagnostic service such as memtest (built into most motherboards). Let it run for a few hours.

comment Share a Wifi connection through wifi on Mac OS X
@Daniel Beck is correct, to share over Wi-Fi you would need to be connected to your router using an ethernet cable and then set up a new wi-fi connection for sharing.

comment USB devices don't work after restoring from Stand By
"There is an option to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the Power Management properties of USB entries" - Have you tried changing this option to see if it cures the problem, as it seems plausible?

comment Gigabyte H55N-USB3: No video on HDMI
Is there an option in the BIOS to set default video output to HDMI when using on board GPU? It should auto detect, but worth a look. The BIOS entry is normally called something like "init display". Also, how many HDMI inputs does your TV have? Is it looking at the right one?

comment Why won't Internet Explorer 9 beta load?
Make sure it is not already running under task manager (right click task bar and select "start task manager" and make sure that iexplore.exe does not appear there) If it does, select it and the press the end process button, and try again. If you want to uninstall it and try again you can go to control panel and click "view installed updates" in the left hand column and find internet explorer 9 in the list that appears. Good luck!

comment CPU temperatures high on new build after gaming
From what you've been told... I'd try a new cooler. Also, should have more exhaust fans than intake fans. A negative pressure inside the case aids airflow over the motherboard. This method is implemented by many case makers. Also, are there nay jumpers on the motherboard whcih overvolt by default?

comment CPU temperatures high on new build after gaming
Please specify which CPU, and whether it is running at stock speeds or overclocked. Some other specs might be useful such as case cooling and power supply brand/size. This sounds like a case of no thermal grease or an inadequately fitted cooler.

comment New video card, black border?
Are the native resolutions of the two screens the same? Sounds like the primary monitor is fixed to the maximum resolution of the secondary display. Double click the ATI catalyst icon in your taskbar (make sure that you have installed the latest 10.12 release) and select the option for "my digital flat panels" to see if there is a lock on the resolution.
