comment SFTP as a folder on Vista
There's no way to "fix" it because this is not a bug. Explorer reads thumbnails by design and so far nobody knows how to stop it from doing so. Network drive type should reduce the number of reads.

comment PowerShell, SSH, Keyboard Interactive and Frustration
Don't know why this has been migrated from stackoverflow, but if you are into programming, take some commercial component which works fine. For example our SecureBlackbox ( eldos.com/sbb/net-ssh.php ) offers flexible support for keyboard-interactive and many other authentication types.

Correct implementation would be to create a dedicated user with administrative rights but with some restrictions, and start the application under this user account, rather than give the user full administrative rights just to start your application.

It can mean anything because FTP listing formats are not standardized.

comment Microsoft signed driver appears as publisher not verfied
Hmm, you said you did signing before? There's a parameter in signtool that lets you specify the cross-certificate. See msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/gg487315.aspx

comment How to prevent access of users to read and extract my binary files
@Woot4Moo there's nothing to assume here - in discussed scheme the key IS known (it's on user computer, embedded into the software).

@Woot4Moo 10 ms "longer"? :) Decryption would be done with a known key which will be extracted from the application so slowness doesn't add anything to protection strengh.

You need to work on your accept rate by accepting some answers to your previous questions (of course if answers are satisfactory). See meta.stackexchange.com/a/5235/153597 for details.

comment Can I use bash features such as word completion and scrolling in SFTP?
SFTP is a file transfer protocol. It's not clear how you are going to use it as shell. If you are talking about Shell access, then if the remote side has name completion, then I don't see why it can't work.

comment How can I remove Frequently Visited Sites when I close IE9?
I don't understand you. The plugin can go and clear that damn list for me, and that is what I was looking for in my secondary question. As I didn't ever visit CNN site before, visiting it now didn't bring it to the list, but visiting the site in question did. I'll try playing with some other sites to find the pattern (if it exists).

comment How can I remove Frequently Visited Sites when I close IE9?
Right now, as we've been talking, IE 9 added a site to frequently used again despite all chosen options and surely I used InPrivate mode. Reinstalling Windows is not an option as well as creating other user. I guess my best option would be to create an IE plugin that will clear all junk upon closing myself.

that box was never checked and it's unchecked now. Also, InPrivate mode suggests that nothing is stored no matter of other settings, however this seems to be not the case. I.e. it's a problem probably specific to InPrivate mode. If it were that simple, I would not bother anyone with such questions.

Thank you for the link. On a side note I would like to welcome you to revert your edits cause they are not correct -- I have no problems with browser history. It's cleared perfectly well. The problem is in Frequently Visited Sites feature, not the history. Next, the problem is specific to InPrivate mode and you've completely removed all references to this mode.

@Daniel about:blank has been my favorite homepage for about 15 years, already, since I first installed a browser :).

comment Adding custom file extension associations
The question is offtopic here and belongs to superuser.com . The easiest way is to run regedit, check HKEY_CLASSES key for say ".mp3" subkey and see how it works.
