Thanks, that's what I guessed. Of course, this works only on lossless compressed files. Do you have any idea what to do with other file types?

Is there a reason why you don't want to use an AP?

I had a look at your Huawei. Its manual is really economical... You want to try: 1) Disable the DHCP server on the Huawei. 2) Set it to bridge mode and make itself get its IP using DHCP from the D-Link Router or set manually to one in the D-Link's subnet. 3) DO NOT use the Fibre port. Connect the PowerLine adapter to one of the yellow sockets.

I'm unsure if this is off topic here and should be sent to Server fault.

Naw, he didn't ask for a FS accessible from both OS, but for a way to mount Ubuntu's partitions on Windows.

comment How can I make my Samsung Series 9 laptop charge the battery to 100%?
Yes it is. There is little advantage but a lot of problems. Li-Batteries suffer less from being fully charged than from discharging entirely. If you remove 20% of its capacity artificially, it will be deep-discharged about 20% early, more often. Besides, this ruines the batterie stats. You won't notice when its capacity drops downto 80%, but when it reaches this point. You're battery won't live longer, you just get used to an broken battery before it actuall got down to 80%.
