Laptop turning off when fan is spinning hard Alternatively, you could try using a partially blocked (like with your hand), vacuum cleaner. But instead of applying it to the air intake, run it lightly over the other side of the laptop, around the keyboard. Extreme care is necessary to prevent keys from getting pulled out by the suction from the vacuum cleaner. But it will dislodge any larger debris, and may facilitate the cleaning process through the air intake on the underside, into the cooling fan. |

How can I copy nytimes.com slideshow images to the clipboard? @glenviewjeff Are you CERTAIN that this is fair use? I am not sure what 'fair use copyright guidelines' mean, but I just noticed that the image of the chicken dish had a photographer's name beside it, and noticed the following link nytimes.com/content/help/rights/copyright/copyright-notice.html which I am not qualified to interpret as easily or not falling within fair use guidelines. It also depends on what you intend to do with the image once you obtain it. If you don't intend to post it anywhere, then all is well. |

How can I copy nytimes.com slideshow images to the clipboard? This is exactly what I do. Feels like it lacks finesse, but it works and is fast and straightforward. Nice image choice too: (original) Georgian Chicken with Tamarind for the holidays! Yum! |

How to find polarity of a power supply that's lacking the customary markings I know that was a long time ago, but do you happen to remember where you got that voltage probe? I was reading your answer out loud to my friend (I liked the part about watching the LED flash red and green) and he said he wished he had a voltage probe like you described. Thanks, if you happen to see this! |
