How do you get loopback addresses other than 127.0.0.1 to work on OS X If only there was a way to make it work for 127.*.*.* |

Specify top's screen width in batch mode The advantage of top is that it does show other data related to overall CPU load. I'm using this to log what else is taking up CPU time when a slow request is detected on my web server: I care about the load at that instant, and ps doesn't show that very well. |

Split Terminal windows on Snow Leopard It is clearly for when you want to see something you have done earlier, and enter new commands at the same time. |

Remap caps lock to escape in OS X I use this on one of my machines: on another I use a custom build of DoubleCommand. |

Virtual Desktop for OSX: Not “Virtual Desktops” How do you handle the Menubar? If you pan around, and it moves off the screen, it's useless. If it stays on screen, but you can pan 'past' it, then you lose Fitts' Law. |

How to cause app to launch on startup — Mac If the app in question does not appear in the Dock, you'll need to use the other method, though. |

Focus Follows Mouse or Sloppy Focus on Mac OS X I think the first aspect of this answer is oft-misunderstood. With FFM, then it would be hard to use the menus of any app that isn't "touching" the menubar. |
