comment How to take screenshot of menu?
gnome-screenshot -d 5 will have 5 second delay. Add -w to only capture the active window, not the whole desktop.

comment Display with intel integrated graphics, bitcoin mine with Radeon 6950
I believe I tried that when attempting to set it up and it didn't work. Gnome would never load. I could switch to a tty, but not get a graphical environment. I've actually given up on this endeavor. I bought an additional 6950 and mine at full speed on one card and on about three-quarter speed on the other. With this setup, I get about the same graphical performance I was getting with my integrated video, so it's currently good enough. Thanks for your input anyway!

@Break Dummy plug doesn't work (followed instructions at bit.ly/fxmtnX). My monitor has two inputs and I tried plugging in one input to my integrated and one to my ATI. That didn't work either.

I would like to add that I find it easiest to put every vim file under .vim, put that folder on git, and symlink any files (such as vimrc) that need to be placed elsewhere.

comment Linux User Permissions?
You're going to want to use the -a option for the usermod command, i.e. usermod -a -G foo tommy. Without it, the supplementary groups for the user will be set to only foo, most likely not the desired behavior.

comment Child bash identical to invoking parent
depending on the complexity of the perl script, have it write it's own temporary rc file and then invoke bash with: bash --rcfile <path-to-the-temp-rc-file> This will not load the system wide or user rc file, only the file specified.
