"I formatted with win xp sp3" - what do you mean by this? You formatted the disk at the first part of the XP install, and now after the first reboot it errors?

No, I don't think so. Try analyzing the disk with another defrag tool (eg, MyDefrag) and see what it tells you.

Page file doesn't usually fragment like crazy all over the disk, though - default settings seem to give it a static size of 1.5*RAM. System Restore files are defragmentable, though - I've just done it.
