I apologise for being unable to see into the future. Obviously I should I have anticipated iSync being discontinued when I wrote this answer in 2009.

comment Allow other user to see just one directory in my user folder
Oh right, I assumed that was what the poster wanted to do. Nevertheless, it shows that Apple endorses allowing other users read-only access to directories in the ~ folder means it's probably OK to do.

I'm not sure what you mean. Is the script app not being killed? Because that's what the &killall is for.

Agreed. Tomato is fantastic and QOS works brilliantly. Plus it's really easy to switch back if you don't like it.

You're not alone. I have exactly the same issue. Like you, I can 'solve' it by using my university's VPN.

comment Can you run Snow Leopard Server on a VM?
The issue is that OS X uses EFI instead of BIOS which is often not supported, and the major VM manufacturers have a gentleman's agreement with Apple to not allow the running of OS X clients.

Not true. All Mac users using computers made in the last couple of years who use Safari (a sizeable proportion) are using a 64 bit browser.
