Hi. As you may have gathered, my name is Dan. I'd class myself as a Multimedia & Web Developer as I have a strong interest in both fields. However, before I talk about my interest, allow me to tell you a little bit about myself.

I'm originally from Ton Pentre in the Rhondda Valleys but I currently reside in the Treforest area of South Wales with my girlfriend Heather Williams who is a graphic designer. I'm currently 22 years old and I stand at 6 foot 5 inches. My personal interests are music primarily, but I also dabble in writing fiction stories when I have the time. I play bass guitar and have done so for nearly a decade now. I also have a passion for experimenting with coding and scripting languages such as PHP and ActionScript.

Multimedia

My multimedia passion has been a part of me since I was just fourteen and just discovering Flash. I tried and tried with animation but unfortunately I didn't have the patience or knowhow at the time to do anything quite credible. However, it wasn't until a few years later that I actually got into the ActionScript side of things and now I consider myself a proficient ActionScript 3.0 programmer. You can see examples of my applications in the Portfolio Section. I love to experiment and I find building complex applications very exciting.

Web Development

I have been developing website ever since I found out that Notepad could be used as a crude HTML programmer. My passion and knowledge didn't really come alive until I was at university, studying Computer Science. We were taught three internet development modules; Internet Application Development, Rich Internet Application Development and Advanced Internet Development. I emerged from university boasting a diverse vocabulary from ASP.NET to PHP/MySQL and Java Server Pages as well as XML, AJAX and Javascript to name just a few. My interest in web development centres around creating beautiful and useable websites and making the user feel comfortable within a largely technical environment.
