I'm a software engineer and a member of Dandelion Village. I am also a permaculturist, Ultimate Frisbee player, rock climber and cook. Time not spent doing these things is devoted to playing with code and to writing.

comment What is the laptop brand with the lowest fail rate?
@Arjan Oh I see, you're refering to the only can notify one per comment thing. Well, since the comments largely seem to copy the Twitter syntax (and Jeff is a professed fan of Twitter) it was a reasonable to guess they would fully copy the Twitter syntax. Glad to know how they work though.

@Arjan shrug It was reasonable to assume that voting to close a question constituted participating in it enough to allow comment replies to work. Good to know though.

@Arjan @ChrisF @sblair @Mehper @C. Palavuzlar @nhinkle Edited the question to more accurately address the information I needed. I believe it now fits the FAQ and the guidelines of allowable shopping recommendation questions, as well as is no longer subjective or argumentative.

I did some searches and found a number of similar questions before I posted. I meant to CW and then forgot to on posting, now I can't seem to when I edit.

comment xcopy Not Surpressing File/Directory Query
Thanks for the suggestion, but that's a rather different scenario. That's suppressing the terminal itself when calling a batch file. I'm trying to suppress a prompt that xcopy gives.

comment Coercing a Radeon 4650 HD to Work with Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
Yeah, going to 9.04 did it. Guess it's an LTS fail, but oh well. I've forgotten why I stayed with LTS in the first place - so that works for me :)
