comment Customizing menu shortcuts in Firefox
I tried it; at first glance it seems better than "menu editor" but while I could find the entry that I wanted to remove, I couldn't find the entry that I wanted to see. The list contains roughly 1000 elements and there is no search :-( So while it might work, it's too hard to use for me.

Unfortunately, this doesn't allow me to edit the menu; I can only delete it completely. Not really useful since I'd like to keep the option.

Can't help you but I've seen both in Excel: Everything in one window (MDI like) and each sheet one window. Did you check the prefs? Maybe it's an option?

Hm. That shouldn't stop him from filing an enhancement request?

comment Clipboard stopped working
This pushes the last app out of the clipboard. May cause a memory leak but as OP noticed, it give you the control back.

comment In 2011, what are the reasons to stick with plain text mails?
@Daniel: Re 1. They probably get something in return - like expensive meals for the CEO or superb service. 2. On a small display, HTML is much easier to read than plain text since it adjusts to the screen width. 4. That was a log file. Can't comment :-)

@Daniel Beck: 1. Yeah :-) I'd say currently, it isn't an issue anymore. I got a new computer last week and smallest disk size I could chose for an office PC as 2TB. 2. I'm not designing anything. HTML reflows much more nicely than pure text. 4. How to I put explanations between attachments?

@AndrejaKo: Most people don't understand what you mean by "size". :-) They have no idea how much space the letter 'a' needs in a text file. They will create a mail, drag C:\ into it as an attachment and then complain that the idiots from IT created a system that can't handle a simple 700MB email! Size only matters in viagra spam. Or to put it another way: We're a minority. Humanity couldn't care less. Mail has to work, details don't matter. If it's slow, then it's your fault, not theirs. Because you should have known better. :-)

+1 for this one. HTML mail editors simply suck. On the usability scale, they come close to flint stones and torture devices. I always struggle where to click to add a new line or to get rid of parts that I don't want in my reply. Either I delete too much or the editor decides "if you delete that character, I'm upset and delete the rest of the mail! So there."

I agree that today most of it is spam but is that a reason not to use it? Sounds more like "submit to the spammers" instead of "let's give 'em hell" :-/

Habit: Yes, but yesterday, I had to send an email with a log file and the lines were longer than 72 characters. Even I couldn't read the result anymore. Switch to HTML mail and I could mark the lines as "non-wrap, fixed width font". I could have used a text-only mail and created attachments but how do you put explanations between attachments?

Sounds good but: 1. Storage size? In 10 years, we'll have 1TB disks the size of a fingernail. And I really mean: We will have to have them or some hell will break lose. :-) 2. Readability, I buy. But mobile devices? Which mobile device has to render text mails as text? All of them have a built in web browser. 3. How is winmail.dat related to HTML mail? I know that Lookout isn't meant to make people happy, yes, but what's the point? As for "no additional value": Tell me how to send a mail with lines > 80 characters that must not wrap (like source code)?

My mouse has 18 buttons ... at least X says so. I could find only 7.

comment How can I use my mobile phone as a password provider?
Answer: Lastpass offers a screen keyboard so simple keyloggers won't work. It doesn't protect against more sophisticated trojans that make screenshots and capture mouse movements, though.

It's a Nokia N90 but I'm willing to buy a new one. So treat this as "not limited to any specific device by me"
