Weird, the same thing is happening on my machine. This has been driving me nuts.

FYI mkfs -t vfat will call mkfs.vfat. Makes no difference, really.

comment How to format a pen drive in linux
Well first of all linux uses the forward slash / and not the backward slash. Secondly, "it doesn't work" isn't good enough. Please say precisely how it's failing (errors given, etc). Third (and most importantly) this is the wrong site for this question. This site is for programming questions.

comment How to hibernate seamless windows XP mode under windows 7?
Hi Andre, welcome to Stack Overflow. You seem to be asking a lot of questions about microsoft virtual PC, which are really more appropriate for a site like SuperUser. This site is for programming questions. If these questions are migrated, don't be alarmed.

And how did it fail? Failed to connect? The screen was all black? You found it sleeping with the town drunk?

A quick look here doesn't show that sequence. Try running the file command on your file to see what it thinks (assuming you're on Linux).

comment Is it possible to run Windows without GUI?
No, Microsoft got rid of that after Windows 9x. Unlike X, Windows doesn't run on top of some shell subsystem. Ctrl+alt+delete is the best you can get.
