comment Recommendation for a simple no-frills Windows PDF printer driver?
@lkraider: Where did you download it from? Use SourceForge link. It's opensource, see for yourself that no bar is installed by default. I'm guessing you download it from other site which injected that code. I have installed it in more than 300 computers and inspected the code myself and no bar is installed. Be careful.

It also happen to me. And often messages are "popped" as if they were sent at that moment but they are very old! (sometimes even more than 1 year!). I also use Ubuntu, perhaps the linux client has some issues?

comment Find all the fonts used in a Photoshop file
+1: I came up with the same solution. For some reason GIMP didn't import the PSD correctly and I didn't know which font it was used. I analyzed the PSD file in an HEX editor to find it (Search for: "Font" as TEXT). Recommeded editor: "bless".

comment How to convert a text file from Shift JIS to UTF-8 and back from the terminal
If your target is Window's Shift_JIS, you should use CP932 instead if you are having problems converting some characters.

comment If no cores are online in a CPU, it would be safe to turn off its fan?
@Daniel: Yes, I thought about it too, but it seems the temperature hasn't change so much even with all cores turned off (probably because it is not hot season yet). I added the temperature chart to show it to you. In that case, how do I know it reaches a "safe" temperature?

@Ignacio: Thanks for the answer... I just have a question: how do you know that? (sorry, I just want to be 100% sure about it).
