@user1306322 Correct. Screen saver does not turn off the display.

comment Is it possible to change the Microsoft Lync keyboard shortcuts?
Lync's Ctrl-Shift-S (Stop Screen Sharing) interferes w/ Visual Studio's "Save All". The following failed to resolve this problem for me (Lync 2010): 1) Uncheck Lync's "Automatically start..." option 2) Gently close Lync 3) Reboot 4) Observe Lync not start automatically post-reboot 5) Start VS and create unsaved changes in editor 6) Start Lync 7) Share Screen w/ Lync contact 8) Return VS window to forefront 9) Type Ctrl-Shift-S 10) Observe Lync perform its "Stop Screen Sharing" command 11) Observe VS has not performed its "Save All" command

comment Show text-only view of incoming email?
My expectation that Outlook is capable of this is based only on my having seen competitors do this years ago (but maybe not these days?). There used to be options by which the user of the email client could specify whether she wanted to see plainText or HTML views of emails which contained both content types/views. Outlook doesn't seem to be giving me that option. The 'read all messages as plain text' security feature shows a stripped-down version of the HTML content/view.

comment Show text-only view of incoming email?
The one sent email has two views. Everything Outlook would need to display the text-only content (which differs from the HTML content) is in the email. Everything Outlook would need to display the HTML content is in the email.

comment Can't maximize window fully?
Yes. Surely it's a solution to a niche problem that hasn't adequately been defined.

comment Two PowerShell commands together?
I don't have anything to share, as I had no idea how to do it, and my search efforts failed.

comment PuTTY log to disk in real-time?
Thank you! the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/0.58/htmldoc/… says: "[The 'Flush log file frequently'] option allows you to control how frequently logged data is flushed to disc. By default, PuTTY will flush data as soon as it is displayed..." (the section is short and contains more information)

comment Close or load a blank page after middle-click on tab in Firefox
This does not put a close button on the tab. It does allow me to close the tab w/ a middle click (which flashes a close button on the tab, for an instant, as it's closing). When the tab closes, a blank tab immediately replaces it. The browser does not close. That'll do until I can get TabMixPlus.

Oh wow. I missed the first part of your quoted text above. I'm sorry. I had dismissed that entire paragraph (when I first saw it) because of your italicized text. When you quoted it, I took your italics to mean I should, again, dismiss the entire paragraph, which I mistook to be pointing out only Dual DVI (which, clearly, isn't possible). I see now. It supports "dual" monitors (not three). Got it. Excellent. Thank you.

They don't both have to be DVI. But you're saying it's safe for me to assume that each of those ports will power its own monitor concurrently? Maybe this is a dumb question -- haha. I just assumed I could choose only one of the three ports to use at any given time...

comment Windows 7: from Geforce 8800 to three monitors?
Ok, so let's say I run the two NVidia cards with no plans to use SLI. Do I then install only one driver from NVidia? I mean... I download only one thing, install it, and it figures out what all needs to be installed to my system from a driver standpoint?

Is it true that I cannot mix a GT and a GTX for SLI (slizone.com/page/slizone_faq.html#c16)?

comment Online tool to publish aggregated podcast feed with enclosures?
The RSS of a podcast typically includes a tag called "enclosure". It contains information about the media file associated with a given podcast episode. When you aggregate podcast RSS feeds with tools like feedrinse.com and (I think) Yahoo Pipes, the "enclosure" tag is not included. So, if you point a podcatcher at that feed, it won't download any files. It seems like it should be possible to include the enclosure tag in a feed created with Yahoo Pipes. I've tried before and don't recall succeeding. That was a while back. Maybe I should try again (maybe someone's already done it?).
