Washington, DC software developer, mostly working in ASP.NET, C#, Javascript/jQuery, and MS SQL Server these days. In the last 20 years, I've spent a lot of time designing and developing applications in these technologies as well as PHP, MySQL, and Visual Basic, and a lot of other things that are now forgotten but not always gone.
My favorite pet projects:
CsQuery - C# port of jQuery.
ImageMapster - jQuery plugin to enhance image maps

Why does the USB hub need to be connected with my PC to charge my Droid phone? (I posted the answer below about modifying a USB hub). Regarding that other answer/the CNET article it seems pretty likely that they didn't mention that the hub was attached to a computer. I've never gotten ANYTHING to charge at all from a non-modded powered hub, and I tried a bunch when I was trying to figure this out. Frankly I'm surprised nobody sells such a thing since it's so incredibly useful (hello, entrepreneurs!) but it's a pretty low-risk project and the hubs are dirt cheap if you mess it up. Been using one for over a year now and it charges everything fine. |

Move location of “Desktop” toolbar in Windows 7 task bar? I think I had checked this out some time ago when I first moved to Windows 7 and I didn't want the downsides that came with it, I just wanted everything else to stay the same but have the ability to organize things in cascading menus. |

Move location of “Desktop” toolbar in Windows 7 task bar? @James - that is perfect, can you make it an answer? I guess I just gave up when it looked all crazy as I started to move it left. |

Move location of “Desktop” toolbar in Windows 7 task bar? Pinning a program to the taskbar does not give you cascading menus, that is the point. |

Move location of “Desktop” toolbar in Windows 7 task bar? When you do that, it leaves the >> at the right, and just fills up all the space to the right of "Desktop" with stuff (I believe) from the windows menu. I want the >> that pops up the cascading menus to move. |

Why does the USB hub need to be connected with my PC to charge my Droid phone? Reason for mod deletion? The specifics of getting this to work are not described in other answers here, and I can't think why others would not find that information useful. |
