comment Thunderbird 3.0 - how to use ESC key to close new mail window
@studiohack Citation? The salutations are discouraged, but I don't think there's anything wrong with "Thanks" at the end. If the question required lots of editing, I might understand your motive, but you edit a question just to remove a polite word at the end?

comment Reading an encfs volume from Windows?
True Crypt doesn't use authenticated encryption, so it's particularly unsuitable for a use case like Dropbox where an attacker can tamper with the cipher text. Encfs has a better design for this use case (file encryption instead of sector encryption), and it uses an authenticated encryption mode (AEAD). See sockpuppet.org/blog/2014/04/30/you-dont-want-xts for more details.

comment What is the difference between i686 and x86_64?
-1 My pet peeve: answers that don't answer the question. Your answer doesn't even mention the words i686 or x86_64.

"How to do it from command prompt?" Emphasis added. I don't consider comments by the OP to be part of the question.

comment How to type unicode characters in KDE?
+1 "Memorising hexcodes is madness." → Couldn't agree more, but I'm surprised that my compose file doesn't contain some useful characters, like ✓ (u2713). The GitHub you linked to is supremely useful.

comment bnx2 kernel module not functioning correctly
Thanks, Rudy. Both good answers but my distro (which I failed to specify) was Debian.
