@Hennes - Good catch. Fixed.

comment How to use cellular broadband internet while connected to Wifi network too?
Looks like a bit of localization was implied, so I looked up the terms according to Wikipedia. Here when a company sells broadband service, they always mean cellular broadband. I see even the WiFi qualifies as broadband, hence the confusion.

Sorry, did I mix up my terminology? WiFi was meant to be the wireless 802.11n network created by my router. No ethernet jack is involved here. As I mentioned, connecting to broadband only works but I lose access to my local network (printer, file server, etc) which is why I am asking the question :)

No. By WiFi I mean a local wireless (802.11n) network and by broadband I mean a cellular network (currently 4G LTE)

@Darius - Yes. It is Micro-SIM in fact. That one I put it myself, so I know.

comment Is it possible to FAX over broadband?
@LPChip - No idea how it does it and it even surprised me! When I activate the broadband service I got a 'Welcome' message. I try to send from my cell to the laptop and from the laptop to the cell and it works. That's how I found out my laptop's phone number :)

comment Is it possible to FAX over broadband?
@psusi - Maybe they call it differently where you are. Here they say 'broadband' or 'wwan' which means my laptop is connected to a cellular network. In this case a 4G LTE one but it can also connect over 3G, so hopefully the solution applies.

@techie007 Not duplicate. The laptop HAS a phone number and it's not my cell number to be clear.

comment Are GPT reserved and EFI system partitions important?
Excellent write-up. Your third point at the top is not entirely correct. There is a severe performance hit from using multiple partitions on a standard HDD (as opposed to an SSD) because the head has to move between different partitions when doing I/O from more than one at the time.

comment How to Prevent Updates over Broadband?
If you detail how, you've answered my question. In the obvious places, no such settings were found yet. I'd rather not disable updates completely but right now it's costing me too much.

@KonnerRasmussen - Correct. You can verify a backup with MD5 for example but it may happen that an error goes through undetected.

comment How to Find IMEI Number from Windows 7?
Not working. All drivers are installed and I updated all from Lenovo's System update. First it gave an wwansvc service not running error, so I started it manually. Not the command says There is no Broadband interface. Could there be a catch-22 and this not work unless connected? Or is there anything to do to activate the driver first? Access Connections does not show anything and has the Broadband option greyed out.

comment internal mechanical drive vs external SSD
@user304176 - Regarding the video part, I can tell you its too complex to answer. We would need to know the speed of the drive, resolution and bit-rate of the video to even guess. This I know because I spent 9 years working on video special effect software and my job was to ensure the maximum performance from processing and storage subsystems. Plus, the application has an enormous impact on how I/O performs.

USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. All devices on the same bus share the bandwidth but its not allocated meaning they get what the use at a given time. So if you have 2 devices they don't simply get 3 Gb/s each. If they both try to transfer simultaneously, then the total will max out at 6 GB/s (theoretical not actual) but how it is divided is kind of random.

That's a neat program and I let clean out lots of things but unfortunately it failed to remove the offending program with the same error as Windows.

You need at least to specify the platform. The answer would be very different if it was Linux, Windows or OS X.
