Why are my video cards heating up when my machines won't boot or pass POST? Yes. That is what I had to do. |

Convert Parallels VM to Virtual Box VM? Getting closer, updated VirtualBox to 4.0.4.12 which now sees the .hdd file but gives an error: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) - I tried with the VM not running and running, same error. |

Convert Parallels VM to Virtual Box VM? VirtualBox is 3.0.6 and OpenSUSE is 11.2. I've been trapped at 11.2 because of Parallels. |

Convert Parallels VM to Virtual Box VM? It seems to be looking for .vhd, ,vdi or ,vmdk files... which my Parallels VM does not have. Do I need to rename something? I've got an empty .hdd file and .xml file in the directory of the VM. |

Is it faster to have two smaller hard drives or one big one? Well, I have not tried most motherboards :) I did manage to get within 15% of the theoretical maximum with a plenty of them as part of a previous position I held. |

Is there a way to run Windows without installing it? Awesome, it worked! One scary thing though: Each time you click on a drive XP does not recognize (every Linux partition), it prompts 'Do you want to format it?' |

Is there a way to run Windows without installing it? This one seems like an Windows executable. I'll have to try it in my VM, we may have a recursion problem otherwise ;) |

How to setup oversized physical screen resolution in winxp Do you have an ATI graphics card? If so, that functionality is available from the graphic driver control panel, at on some versions I used. So, take a look there. |

Graphics card purchase requirements That is almost what I did when I gave my old computer to the kids, otherwise even the old games didn't work. And, yes, I bought it from NewEgg too. |

Does the refresh rate affect LCD screens? Thanks! I spent a few years evaluating LCDs for a company doing film and video processing when the CRTs stopped being produced. LCDs had a really rough start :) |

How to zero-out a flash card under Linux? Is that 32M the size of the flash card? or something else and it figures out the size automatically? |

UNIX ZIP command produces a corrupt zip file Upgrade your version. Mine used to do that but it no longer does and I am not even at the latest. Zip 2.32 compiled GCC 4.4.1 on 2009-10-24 under OpenSUSE 11.2 64-bits. I assume anything newer will do it too. |

AMD X4 975 vs. Intel i5-2400 The rule of thumb is what I call the Formula One Fallacy. By looking at who wins the race, you can't decide which car to buy (unless maybe you are buying an F-1 and hire the winning driver). Even if you can prove that the top Intel processor beats the top AMD processor, you can't use that info to compare other processors. |
