comment Is it a big performance gain to run a VM from a second drive?
But that's exactly what is needed -- working with two disks at the same time; one running the host, one running the VM. Both are needed at the same time. So "yes" to two disks for performance.

comment Why does my screen dim on a desktop installation of Windows 7?
@jthg - Good points. I will have to watch the system more closely next time to see if I can determine what action caused it to dim to see if there is a possibility of a "missing dialog."

comment Why does my screen dim on a desktop installation of Windows 7?
Hmm... I don't see anything. I minimized each window and there's nothing in the task bar. The only app in use is Firefox browsing the web.

comment Windows 7 “Libraries” - How do you back them up?
The article led me to what I needed. What I was asking was a way to back up my library structure. Not the physical files contained in the library. But the article discussed where the libraries are defined, which is what I really needed. Thank you.

Followup - I wonder if there is a way move the .library-ms files so they are included in my data backup? Registry entry? Suggestions?

You are correct. I have no problem backing up my data. It is the library structure I want to back up. Thank you for the answer. I will try and clarify my question.

comment what the best simple video editing program?
Sony Vegas Movie Studio is about $40. The Platinum edition is closer to $80. Both will be more than adequate for @Itay: amazon.com/s/… . The Pro version is for professionals; way overkill.
