comment Windows 8.1 Allow incoming VPN connection
Any of it. The network connections dialog is different and no longer has a menu bar for example. If it helps, I'd just like a set of steps to enable an incoming connection on Windows 8.1. I've been googling around and there seems there was some sort of change, but no answers yet :/

comment Stop Windows 8 using “Large Icons” view
It's funny this didn't work the first time I tried it, thus the post. I'm wondering if I didn't reset folders the first time. Also, the file dialog box would ignore my choice, so even when explorer got the message, file open dialog hadn't. Solved this by simply changing the view in the actual dialog.

Yes absolutely, the problem is in explorer in Windows 8, not the start menu. If you browse to a folder containing video files, it switches to large icons which is next to useless.

comment Triple monitor setup with one big and two half-sized portraited screens
It's a bit hard to work out what's going on in the picture, but it looks like there are two distinct start menus (I think I can see two start buttons) and the two right side monitors are spanning with the first one separate. It also looks like the third monitor is running at a different resolution because of the apparent height of the start and title bars. I did have a think and off the top of my head can't see a way to get the resolutions to match natively for various sized monitors.
