Good ways to restart all the computers in a remote cluster? Didn't want keyless login. Forgot to mention. |

How can I make a screenshot on a Mac? Holding the Control key down in addition to the other 3 keys listed by Kio will copy the desired screen capture to the clipboard instead of saving it. Handy if you don't want to clutter your desktop. |

How can I view results of my cron jobs? This is how I've always solved my cron issues. |

Open a PDF from within Preview in another Application using Services The reason this came up was because I'm a dock-nazi; it remains as empty as possible and when papers wasn't opened I wanted to shorten by a click or two getting the dock icon there. The solution is just to keep Papers in the dock. If you make your comment an answer you'll get the best answer! |

Execute “Get Info” on a file from command line in Mac OS X I added another dump to /dev/null here: "...osascript - > /dev/null) <<EOF" since the output wasn't too useful and replaced it with a quick blurb. Great job on assembling/writing the codes that went into this answer. |

Execute “Get Info” on a file from command line in Mac OS X I didn't get a chance to try it until now, but I'm getting this error which makes me laugh a little: ./getinfo.sh phBASE.sh execution error: Can’t make file ":⼀唀猀攀爀猀⼀洀眀漀漀搀猀⼀瀀栀䈀䄀匀䔀⸀猀栀" into type alias. (-1700) |

Mac OS X: easiest (free, non-QuickTime Pro) application for converting numbered folder of images to movie I recently had to go about doing the same. Clearly the command line isn't as easy as a GUI, but once I got to know it ffmpeg let me do exactly what I wanted, no matter what I wanted to do! |

Fading Text Colors in Snow Leopard Terminal while scrolling? I found that it may have been due to an aborted ColorSync calibration from earlier in the day. I completed the advanced calibration (don't know if the advanced part mattered) and the problem seems to be gone. So now, my 'submarining' is gone and my display looks better than it did before. Thanks all. |

Fading Text Colors in Snow Leopard Terminal while scrolling? @NSD bit.ly/3DAv5l SIMBL plugin TerminalColours allows for more control over colors of text. I've used it for years w/o issue (and months with SL with no issues). |

Why Doesn't Windows Read Mac/Linux Partitions? FYI. A recent (summer '09) update to the Boot Camp drivers allows access to one's Mac OS X partition. Maybe useless for this question with different drives, but maybe you could reformat your XP drive using Boot Camp? |
