Until 2014-03-31: Java software developer against legacy Cobol code at Kewill in Denmark. MUCH more fun than it sounds :)

After 2014-04-01: Java Developer at Statsbiblioteket. Initially working on Netarchive.

comment What filesystem is Wubi?
This is not a trivial task. Much better to create a backup of your current installation, and restore it to a freshly created installation as you want it.

comment What Filesystem to use for Linux Ubuntu?
@TylerK, ext2 is fine but if anything happens like a power failure while the disk is mounted, you need to check the whole disk for consistency before it can be reliably used again.

comment Is it possible to run an old 16-bit DOS application under Windows 7 64-bit?
XP mode works but is not suitable for games. It runs a full XP inside an integrated version of VirtualPC.

comment Launch jar files on 64 bit java in Windows 7
Not unless they link in native code, like SWT. A pure java program can be run unmodified on any Java SE JVM.

Incremental backups are not as fancy as with Time Machine.

comment Does ReadyBoost really improve performance?
@jet, the seek time is much lower on memory based drives. Hence if the file is small it can be retrieved faster anyway.

comment Undo an “rm -rf ~” command?
OS X sets the bar for how backups should work (especially with Time Capsule). See maketecheasier.com/… for suggestions how to get somewhat the same thing with Ubuntu.

comment Is there a tool that can determine the file type from containing data?
file is standard, but on older systems (especially non-Linux) not very knowledgeable. For Ubuntu etc it should be quite respectable and even installed as standard.

comment How to create hyperlink to legacy application in Lotus Notes
When reading the received mail in Outlook, the link looks like notes://AAR/412568F00043E073/126963B27AE3C93E412568EF004CE433/0FA0088F0F40E32FC1‌25781B003A5524, which Outlook considers a potential security concern, and when asked to continue I'm informed that "The parameter is incorrect". Is there an additional trick?
