comment SIP client to open a web page with caller ID
I don't think you have understood what I needed. I wanted something that can sit in the task bar, logged into my SIP account. When a call comes in, I want it to open a URL in a new window with the caller ID added, e.g. example.com/search?phone=1234567890, which my database will use to look up the person who is calling.

comment $PATH is driving me nuts
Except he isn't using bash. Also I really wouldn't recommend doing something like that unless you know what it means. A naive user might wonder why it didn't work, and try it again and again, for example.

comment Mac - Convert from Case-Sensitive to Case-Insensitive File System
@EBGreen different parts of the "Operating System" are case sensitive or case insensitive. The default filesystem is case insensitive, although you can specify a disc to be formatted case-sensitively for better unix compatibility. Unfortunately, many apps are broken - they assume you keep the defaults.

comment PC version of Google Chrome doesn't recognize “.local” domain name
According to the question, proseek.local is the user's mac, and chrome is having this problem on Windows. Therefore 127.0.0.1 is not the right IP address. .local is a special domain that means use mDNS to resolve the IP address. It is not something you set up on a DNS or DHCP server, it works using multicast messages to ask all the computers on the LAN.

comment How to delete all files in a directory except some?
Oh, you mean any file who's name contains u or p, not any file containing a u or a p. That is correct. You can fix by using egrep -v '^(u|p)$'

comment How to delete all files in a directory except some?
@Matteo No it won't. The grep isn't grepping the files, it's grepping the output of the ls command. You're thinking of something like grep -L (u|p)' * | xargs rm where -L means list filenames not containing a match.

@HobbesofCalvin That would delete all files not beginning with u or p, not those beginning with them.

comment How to remove one or all auto-complete text entries in Chrome?
@DMac Macbook pros do not have a delete key. They have a backspace key, but in the US version only, the word "delete" is written on it. It still works as a backspace key, and you still have to use the fn key to get it to work as a delete key.

comment How do you get screen to automatically connect to the current ssh-agent when re-attaching to an existing screen?
"First answer given above" doesn't mean anything as the answers change order as they are voted on etc. Please include the share link from the answer you are referring to, as that won't change.

Wow that is seriously screwed up. These are the UK keyboards: large, small. What does a US large keyboard call the real delete key?
