comment Can a database be too relational?
The primary tradeoff you're making is saving space to increase computational complexity. JOINs are not cheap, especially in more complicated and larger databases. Your question has a solution (this design will work), but the problem could be easily avoided by not using this table design. I wouldn't use a design like this unless there was a very good reason for it. Just my $0.02, let bygones be bygones, etc.

comment How to disable Mac OS X from using swap when there still is “Inactive” memory?
Also the test environment is far from sterile. We can't tell what QuickTime Player is doing, or any of the other programs open.

comment How to convert a PDF document to PNG?
Thanks @Brad, but I don't think it is sufficient to stand alone. It's really just an addendum to your answer.

Gimp works great for a single page, but I don't see a simple way to export lots of pages automatically. I'm sure if you know gimp well you could use automation tools to get it working. But perhaps pdftoppm is better.

I think you'd have to find a way to clear the framebuffer? But I don't know how to do this.

The question asked about how to limit which public keys are used. This answer disables public key authentication entirely.
