I've been programming since I was 15 and freelancing on enterprise projects for 7 years, doing most of my development on C#/.NET and Javascript.

Lately I've focussed on developing rich, fast, responsive web apps, using client-side frameworks (such as Knockout and jQuery Validation) and have been experimenting with NodeJS.

You'll notice I often ask and answer my own questions. To my surprise, many of those questions actually get visited and up-voted, proving that a lot of the stuff we think is unique to our particular project can actually be very useful to other people.

So go StackOverflow!

Just discovered that this is occurring because the Git repo I'm trying to access uses SSH rather than HTTP. I'll have to use a tunnelling utility such as Corkscrew.

Windows 2008 R2 Server. I've finally gotten it partially working with an app called 'ReDirProxy'. By this means I can access VPN servers through the browser on my client machine. Unfortunately I still can't use Git to access the git server on my client machine. I'm thinking maybe Git isn't using my Windows proxy settings?

On second thoughts, maybe SSH is the right thing to try. (Found a similar question here: superuser.com/questions/226420/…). I'll try BitVise WinSSHD.

I'm going to try using OpenVPN for this.
