comment Is it safe to remove old Chrome extension versions?
Hm, none of these links look helpful. The second link doesn't work. Yes, I'm on Linux. What is an "attached non-recoverable string"? I guess I'll just do the reinstall way but still it would be nice to know whether the extraneous versions can simply be removed without corrupting the chrome profile.

comment How to verify a self-encrypted drive (SED) is really encrypted?
The OS is not "waiting", it's woken up by ACPI. If the system's firmware supports it, it may very well erase the key from memory upon entering sleep and requiring it upon resume. Few laptops support it though. It's the only way to avoid an attack where the data cable of a hard drive in a sleeping computer is plugged into another computer granting full access to the data.

comment Will stopping hard disk when inactive also stop downloads?
Except if you are running Windows 95 by any chance. I cannot comment on newer versions.

Finally! This also applies to later versions (Server 2012 in my case).

By now I switched to Sumatra PDF btw. Very lightweight and fast. I just miss the better printing options of Acrobat Reader.

I know, there are more sensible alternatives than Acrobat. It used to be all we have, now it's just a (bad?) habit for me to use it. I should know better though... Thanks a lot for the pointer. Make Hand tool read articles in general preferences is what has to be deactivated.
