I solved it. I plugged the wrong PSU cable in the MB.

Thanks for being emphatic :)

That's not a driver, it's an application. Nevertheless, I tried installing it to see if it will help - no such luck.

@edusysadmin I added the screenshots. I hope my question is better explained now.

It just happens. There is no single event that triggers it. Sometimes it works fine for days, sometimes it disappears pretty quickly. I haven't been able to spot a pattern there.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I've tried everything you've said. The only thing I haven't tried is to mess with the camera physically (to see if the cables and connectors got loose inside the casing for instance). But I really don't plan on doing that - I have the feeling I'd be doing more damage than good.

I doubt it, because if the driver is overwritten, how come the camera does work from time to time? As for getting the drivers, that's impossible, as I originally wrote in the question body. Too bad, though.

Also, I want to use my camera in Live Messenger :)

Actually, I haven't done that, so I'm not sure. I don't know if the Live Messenger 2011 screws up the camera for good or only causes conflicts while it is installed. I am trying to find an answer if it is possible to make the two coexist in the system.

Moab, thanks for the links. In the end, it was the IPv6 vs IPv4 that was causing the issue. I was able to install both apps only after that was fixed (the installations kept crashing even thought they were "offline installations"). Again, thanks for the links!

Yeah, I do have IE8 and all the ideas that I've had or the ones you've suggested I tried from both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer - but the problem remains.

My browser (Google Chrome) is not showing any pop-up blocking. I did as you suggested, but to no avail :/

I even tried to click that link "In case your download doesn't start..." but the outcome is the same. Oh, this is so frustrating...

When I click Download on the page you have provided, it takes me to the "Thank you for downloading" page and then it waits for a while to get started with the download, but since nothing happens, the time-out fires and again, I am presented with the "Page not found" message.

Yeah, I am running SP1. I am using this link (I am choosing Windows 7 64-bit from the drop-down box) windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/products/ie/home. After clicking the Download button, the browser is waiting for a while and then it shows the Page Not Found.
