comment tar - exclude does not work
@Aaron - I suspect that the homework aspect isn't on using tar, but rather that he needs to turn in his homework as a tarball. Explicit directions, in this case, are probably acceptable.

comment Can a computer act as a cellphone?
It's not enough to have an antenna -- you have to have the radio. There's no technical reason why you couldn't do this -- after all, that's basically what a smartphone is. I know HAM radio guys that have been hooking their computers up to their radios for years.
