comment What's the difference between /etc/bash.bashrc and ~/.bashrc? Which one should I use?
Strictly speaking, you're not enforcing anything in /etc/bash.bashrc because users can always change it in their own ~/.bashrc

comment Remotely make the computer beep on built-in speaker
gnome-volume-control can be used to control the built-in speaker separately. What do you mean by disabled? What happens when you run gnome-volume-control from a command line?

At least on my pc I can mute the speakers with gnome-volume-control. And since I can't stand the beeping, I usually do.

comment LInux Mint Gloria 7 (Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04) - Memory woes - Memory RAM is not cleared or Leak
The screenshot tells you the following: 2.4gb is in use on your system, half of that is the disk cache, the other 1.2 are used by programs. However, that's the amount of virtual memory they use, not physical memory (RSS). (And no, virtual memory is not RAM plus swap.) You're comparing apples and oranges. Also, you should not post a screenshot where text would be sufficient.
