comment Regular keyboard stuck as if a laptop function key was pressed
@Tomaka17 How can you say it doesn't satisfy you?? The problem is that it is using the letter keys as a number pad, when the Num Lock key is on (Which is a feature by the way, it's supposed to do that...). That is the only and proper way to turn it off. And if it is a desktop PC, how is it not an external keyboard?

comment How to force Mac to into dirty shutdown state on every power off?
Just out of curiosity, do you often find that your Mini is 5000 miles away, or stuck at the bottom of the ocean, then?

comment What exactly is the part number of a CD for?
I dont think you would need the part number of a CD in the event that you needed to re-order it. The only difference would be that the re-ordered software CD will likely have a newer build of the software on it, which is a good thing anyway. Also, companies do not often continue to produce old versions (atleast on CD, because of the cost)

comment Normalize volume of all my computer hardware and software?
I think the easiest way is to just leave everything at full volume (YouTube, iTunes, whatever) and only use one method to change the volume, that covers everything. So either use the Windows master volume control, or the volume control on your speakers. That way everything will always be the same volume.

comment Script to shutdown Windows 7 PC
@Cody Gray Yes, I am aware that the 'Shutdown' command is not limited to just the shutdown functionality. But if you wanted to change what the script did, you would have to manually edit it every time, or create multiple scripts, which just gets messy. How is this preferable to using a drop down window that takes much less time to change?

Well as the script he was using has a /t value of more than 0 (5 in this case), it is already implying the /f switch (as seen in your quote), so explicitly adding won't make a difference.

comment Script to shutdown Windows 7 PC
@Cody Gray Mainly because it is built into Windows, and works every time. It also doesn't limit you to just the Shut Down function. Lastly, I would say it is also quicker to get to. Clicking the taskbar from whatever program you are in and pressing Alt + F4 is quicker than minimizing everything you have open, finding the file, running it, waiting 5 seconds for the timer etc...

comment What exactly is the part number of a CD for?
@Pacerier Yes. However, to backup the CD do not simply copy and paste the files you find on the CD and paste them into a folder (espicially bootable CDs like a Windows disk). There are files on the disk that can't be viewed, but are needed to make the CD bootable or auto-run etc. Use a program like PowerIso (poweriso.com) to rip the CD to an ISO image. You can then mount this using PowerIso on a computer to run it, or easily burn it back to a CD if needed in the future. Hope that helps!

comment How to find out how often Windows Seven has rebooted?
I think this is probably a more reliable method than using the Event Viewer, but it has it's caveats also. Unless the drive has been in the same computer from day one, without being changed or used elsewhere, you wont get accurate results. Also, I think older drives don't fully support S..M.A.R.T., so you may find some drives that record power cycle information, and others that don't.

@rmart I don't know whether the average user would clean out the Event Logs, but they are both fair points. I think using the S.M.A.R.T. data as mentioned above is probably a better way, but that isn't without it's caveats either.

comment screen resolution to be improved from the existing maximum
Yup, probably just need proper drivers. Normally running the optional updates on Windows Update will find the correct graphics card drivers too, if you dont want to, or dont know how to, go hunting around for them manually.
