comment How does the Google bot parse the PHP files?
@user2449761 That is certainly a way to do it. If your server is correctly configured, that should be the only way to do it, and it will require elevated credentials.

@user2449761 no, wget is a HTTP client too, so it has no more ability to download raw PHP than curl does.

comment How can I stop Outlook from restoring calendar items?
@The_IT_Guy_You_Don't_Like - not as far as I know. They have our servers locked down so you have to be on the VPN to get e-mail, and the client software for a mobile device costs $10 - and I'm too cheap to spring for it. :)

comment Diff bet time separated by colon (like 23:10:00 minus next day 01:15:00) in excel
@NileshChandane - there are many ways to take a formula from one cell and paste it across multiple rows. (drag the handle in the lower left, copy/paste, etc.) Excel will automatically update its cell references, so that the formula in row 2 will reference cells A2 and B2, etc.

comment Leap Seconds in Windows
And in any case, "faster" is a direct quote from the linked article. So you'll need to take that up with Microsoft, not duDE.

comment Is liquid cooling necessary for high CPU performance over extended periods?
Also, make sure that your case will accommodate the cooler. I had to modify mine by trimming away part of the motherboard tray for the under-board part of the mount, and there is less than 1/8" clearance between the top of the cooler and the side of the case - and the case has a "bump out" at that point, so a normal case wouldn't have taken it.

comment Why would the Wi-Fi connection on my smartphone perform better than the same connection on my laptop?
It might be worth noting that the speeds he published in the OP are well below the Wireless-G (theoretical) maximum of 54Mb. So dropping the router to G mode may be sufficient. You'd only see a detriment to performance when communicating across the internal network - once it goes external, it's limited to 10Mb up / 1Mb down, based on his numbers.

comment What is the rationale behind safely removing USB media from windows PCs?
@supercat - That doesn't change what I said, however - if the drive lost power during the erase, the queue would not be modified and the block would just be erased later. If power is lost while rewriting the queue, yeah, that could cause issues, but as you noted in your answer, the write is significantly faster (so less likely to be interrupted). Still not impossible, just not something you probably need to put any significant worry into.

Anything at this level should be transactional - the block would not be removed from the "to be deleted" queue until it was actually deleted. Its state would not be undefined - if the system didn't complete the erase, it should just pick up (from the beginning of the block) next time.

comment Why do some downloading files not know their own size?
@Alfo - it only needs to be finished being created before the last packet is sent to the client.

"Now think about this: if you have one bit, you can save two values on it: 0 or 1.", etc. throughout the paragraph.

comment How to get car model from vin number
The reason that they're subscription based, and expensive, is that it's volatile data that isn't standardized across manufacturers so it's not simple or cheap for them to maintain.
