A mostly self-educated techwiz from Sweden who specializes in UX and front-end development. I prefer a minimalistic approach in most implementations and love to play around with modern web technologies, such as Node.js and jQuery.

I work together with the awesome code ninjas at ESN, building social real-time web applications such as Battlelog.

comment Why does pinging 192.168.072 (only 2 dots) return a response from 192.168.0.58?
74.0175.0xe2.226 is interpreted as 74.125.226.226 by ping. A coincidence that this specific IP is owned and operated by Google? I think not :)

@Paxinum, I'd check with Inet or Misco. Webhallen is leaning more towards gaming/consumer products.

@Dyppl, good idea. Or perhaps I should add both to help the op, since computer parts are so much more expensive in Sweden (due to much higher VAT and import costs). So you can't just convert SEK to USD/EUR or vice versa and think you have the right price.

cpubenchmark is pretty bad imo. you should take a look at cpu-world instead

comment No signal to monitor when waking up after sleep
@Shinrai, it was only happening when I was cold-booting. So I guess it might be the capacitors that didn't cope with the high load at boot. There were other signs pointing to this as well, such as the leds fading in/out and the fans mysteriously changing RPM, like a voltage rollercoaster :)

@CarlF, yeah I've had lots of problems with hibernation in the past. No real reason to use it on a desktop computer though. Sleep does the job for me :)

@Shinrai, sleeping have never been an issue for me. Sure, only takes 10 seconds to boot but I like session persistency and do not want to have my computer on at all times.

Yep, but nothing that indicates a problem. Bought a new PSU, which seems to have resolved the problem. See my own answer ;)

comment What is the simplest way to use svn repository through firewall without compromizing the security?
@Juha, LazyBadger corrected me once again hehe. I'm sorry for the wrong port number. What I should had said is that HTTPS uses port 443. Was meddling with securing IMAP (which uses 993) at the time, so mixed them up. Anyhow, why can't you just allow HTTPS traffic to googlecode's servers in your firewall?

@Juha, like Lazy Badger said, GC doesn't support it. The only secure way to access GC is with SSL, but that traffic goes through port 993, which is closed?

How about ssh+svn?

Then I guess you're out of luck. You'll be better off running Google Chrome instead :)

comment How can I perform a ping every X minuts and check the response time?
@Profete162, old school! :) I'll add a secondary method which you can use when those commands are missing.

@Profete162, do you have the sleep command then? If so, just replace timeout with sleep. What version of Windows are you doing this?

comment Safari is not working on Windows 7 properly
@metal gear solid, this seems to be a pretty common problem that is spread across multiple platforms. And as far as I can tell, there's no real fix. Apple states "Your DNS server(s) or your router may be affected by DNS prefetching in Safari 5.0.1 or later". So there you have it...

I did this several times, but I can't find anything of interest in the logs. It recommends me to change my settings to be more "energy efficient", but there's no info to indicate any real problem.

It's not responding to RD, so it's not waking up properly and getting stuck somewhere in the process. So it's probably not a driver issue.

Great idea! Will do. However, I don't think its a GFX driver issue since I've had this problem through many different versions and revisions of the Catalyst driver.
