I write software for a living, and build robots for fun. I coach a FIRST team, and try to get outdoors whenever possible.

You are correct - I've put in a fix much like you describe, for Version B of our software. However, some of our customers have Version A, and I would love to have a workaround for them in case any of them run into the bug before we release Version B.

comment Set up DNS to switch to secondary DNS on nxdomain in Windows 7
You make a valid point - I'm really not using DNS the way it's meant to be used. They really are two separate administrative areas - as far as most users of this network are concerned, each DNS server is returning the correct answer. I'm just trying to put in a hack on my own PC to make my life easier, since I've been working with both areas.

comment How to mess up a PC running Windows 7?
Hold down Window-e. This opens copies of Windows Explorer at the keyboard's repeat rate. Windows Vista and later use a lot of video resources per open window (thanks to Aero) so that tends to fill up the RAM and bog down the PC after a few seconds.
