Hi, I'm Jonathan. I dived into iOS programming at the end of 2010 with absolutely no experience. From then on, I learned mostly by answering and asking questions here on Stack Overflow and from personal projects.

I love Core Animation, and most of my open source projects involve it in some way or another. Why not take a peek at my GitHub profile? https://github.com/jwilling

I'm also on Twitter. https://twitter.com/willing

comment Do yahoo mail and hotmail support IMAP IDLE?
Thanks for your confirmation. I had been experiencing bugs in my app with IDLE and Yahoo Mail, and now I realize why: it wasn't supported. Cheers.

@tomtaylor: I submitted a radar about it and it was marked as dupe. I was about to use one of my support incidents on it. Would you say that would be a waste?

@tomtaylor: I'm having exactly the same problem with sandboxing. How did you work around it?

comment Using a Raspberry Pi as a VPN?
What VPN software are you thinking of, specifically? OpenVPN? I know there are others (like m0n0wall) that I'm told just won't work because of the ARM processor.

Thanks! I guess I'll purchase one then when they release the second batch.

Whoops. After unchecking the "ignore permissions" and restarting (after installing a 10.7.2 delta update) it looks like the issue resolved itself. Maybe it just wasn't detecting the changes on the permissions. Thanks for the help! ;)

From an outsiders perspective, I'd say you're too worked up over this (I saw your meta post). If the mods decide to delete something, then that's their decision. Not a big deal.

That is correct. However, I can access the drive up until I hit the Library folder in the user directory. That is where I get the permission snag.

That doesn't work. Adding permissions on the SL volume's folder in Lion did not allow me to access it.
