comment How do you list all processes on the command line in Windows?
TASKLIST /FI "IMAGENAME eq explorer.exe" returns one whole line as output. Is there anyway to get just the PID itself?

comment How to view WIFI's password or forget this network in Windows 8.1
@jitbit, Weird, for some I can see the password after Key content row. But for some the row doesn't even exist. Why is this so?

@Ryaner, I can't seem to get the "current tabs" properly migrated. Did you manage to get that?

comment Linux: Copy DVD ISO to empty hard disk / partition and boot as if it is a DVD?
Btw have you tested this to work successfully? I've had very low success rate of getting "boot from file on hard drive" to work.

Has it been working perfectly? Have you found any problems with this approach?

comment How to mount and unmount hard drives under Windows (the unix way)
@grawity, Regarding "you might even be able to directly use the volume ID in your backup scripts", How would you get \\?\Volume{...}\ to work? It doesn't seem to work in file explorer, and cmd also complains " does not support UNC paths as current directories.".

What other distro would be "more compatible" with the approach you are suggesting? I simply need a distro to copy my c: drive (the whole thing, not just the data) onto an external usb harddisk and restore it in a VM in a new computer before i throw away the old computer.

@Eddy_Em, What's wrong with that?

comment Why do we use cp to copy files and not dd? (in unix-derivatives)
@Kruug, I must be missing something because I still don't see what cp can do that dd cannot. dd is also able to "duplicating file content to a new file or to a new location" and "preservation of ownership, timestamp and mode" right?

comment Is it safe to delete the System Volume Information folder?
When you say "Windows Specific", do you mean that Linux view "System Volume Information" as just another normal folder?, I booted into Linux Puppy and tried to copy "System Volume Information" to a usb harddrive. Do you know why somehow not all the files (the size of the folder is not the same after moving) are copied over?
