comment Is it possible to change Chrome's view-source behaviour to use the current request instead of starting a new one?
@Arjan, Because it is cached. Remove your cache or disallow caching and you will see that view-source indeed issues a new request.

@RodSmith, Assuming I'm using old BIOS, what's the alternative to Secure Boot?

comment Is using multiple passes for wiping a disk really necessary?
@sleske, Wait, that's unlikely simply because you've never heard of it? Does seems to me like an over-estimation of your own ability. Indeed, such cases wouldn't be leaked in the first place. Will the CIA really tell you that they have the technology to easily recover anything less than 7 wipes?

comment How to make Folder Properties show modified and accessed dates?
It still doesn't work. I've tried both options stated in the post.

comment Does VLC media player store the files or its history in a hidden location?
@Zoredache, That wouldn't work. The exe may be in that portable folder but it writes to the local file.

Thanks for the attempt anyway =)

comment How to make Folder Properties show modified and accessed dates?
This doesn't work. When I right click a folder → "Properties", it still only shows the "Created" date. Your settings only work in the Windows Explorer main window view.

@akira, How could XFS be so fast? Don't they do many redundancy checks to ensure data integrity?

Will the last accessed date change when we copy a file/folder?

comment Windows 7, file properties, date modified, how do you show seconds?
@Ian, "99% of users don't care about resolution up to seconds"? Where did you get that statistics from? This thread already has 24k views.

comment How can I restore from a previous hibernation state?
@Ramhound, Why do you say that it's discarded if Windows Explorer is reporting the file size as 3.35 GB? Do you mean that the actual bytes are overridden? If so, what would they be overridden with? I've not done any special settings like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\ClearPageFileAtShutdown or the sort.

comment How can I restore from a previous hibernation state?
@Ramhound, The hibernation file is simply a frost of the RAM right? And the unsaved notepads are stored in the RAM. Why is restoration not possible?

This is one feature new OSes should support.

comment Is there a way to hibernate windows applications separately?
@harrymc, It wouldn't have to be complex if the OS was designed from ground up to have this feature in the first place. It's the monkey patching that's hard, not the feature itself.

comment How can I restore from a previous hibernation state?
@JamieHanrahan, There had got to be a way to open that file on a virtual machine or something since I know the exact bytes (version) that represents my Windows right now and before the Windows updates.

comment How to reopen closed incognito tab?
@slhck, I use incognito because it is "more secure". It's good to know that the shared computer will forget everything about me when I end my session after I've closed all the incognito tabs.
