comment Change /etc/, /var/ permissions to 777
I was operating under the belief that root wouldn't login from console due to /etc/passwd being 777, rather than it being disabled. I'm not familiar with CentOS specifically anymore.

From the original question, I don't believe that console access will work either.

comment Latency of CPU instructions on x86 and x64 processors
One cycle, except when it's "free" (in parallel when pipelines line up correctly) or takes longer due to a cache miss. :-)

comment Why won't IE10 download anything?
Of course, the next question is "Why does it keep happening?". Is it normal to have to reset the browser every like this every month or 2?

Whether you need it for real or for fun doesn't change the answer for this processor line. Have you considered switching to a more deterministic processor, such as a Propeller chip, instead?

comment Is it reasonable to deploy PCoIP for 1 to 1 configurations?
Based on the rate limited demos I've seen, PCoIP is significantly better in low bandwidth conditions compared to RD. I've not seen demos that can accurately simulate latency, but based on the protocol design, I still expect it to be superior with the high latency of a remote connection as well. edit Actually, I have. At a VMUG meeting awhile back one of the guys did actually do PCoIP back to his home office (on the other side of the USA) and it was better than I get over RD in the same city (which might require a Chicago hop anyways).

Improperly marked as a duplicate. Mac to PC is NOT the same as PC to Mac...
