@niren Can you add routes on your Belkin router? And can you plug the routers in to each other physically or no?

MikroTiks have to have roles assigned to ports, you can't just plug them in and have it work

comment I cannot go to google.com and other websites due to invalid certificate; possible DNS issue?
If it's his ISPs DNS server there would be hundreds of people complaining, and it would be fixed. Also, that would not be part of the factory default settings, it would be assigned via DHCP

The problem is present on other devices, which means it could be the router. If it is the router, the best approach is to completely reset it to factory defaults (unless you know what to look for) and then put a strong password on it.

What do you mean you updated the HOSTS file? What did you put in it? What all is in it? What brand of router do you have in your house? Is resetting your router to the default configuration an option?

comment What would be the role of a Raspberry Pi hooked to a harddisk and a VPN?
@CedricMartin Someone can set up VPNs with any OS and a lot of different types of routers - just because it was plugged into a "regular" Ethernet port doesn't mean that there isn't a VPN. Also, I would have a friend that I trust look through the router/firewall for any fishy rules or such things - asap as well

comment How to use Freenode's webIRC client?
@noloader I am pretty sure your input box is there - if you open the picture in a program like paint you can see there is infact white bar across the bottom that matches grawity's. Did you try moving your cursor to the bottom 1/2 inch and around to see if your cursor changes to the text cursor?

Well if it doesn't seem like an essential function, I would unplug it NOW. If something breaks, you can plug it in - it might be a way for the guy who just got fired to get back into the network.
