No, had nothing to do with the hardware and suspected. Just installed a new kernel and problem solved.

comment Wired connection being dropped
I connected my device by serial to my desktop and found had some issues with eth0, the device was not up. I had to add some timeout parameters to the wired profile on netctl and now the connection is up again after reboot. However, this is a new issue. I found nothing but "device is not ready" on dmesg. I'll keep the device connected by serial a couple of hours to see if can replicate the dropout and then check again dmesg.

comment Chrome crawls on Linux whereas Firefox is light as a feather
At first disregarded extensions as they were not showing significant naughty behavior in the Task Manager, however, after disabling all of them i noticed a massive improvement. I'll have to check one by one to find the resource-hungry one.

WORD. Indeed, the password required must be encrypted, i used just plain text BUT, heh, now i cant encrypt it, do you know any tool (without installing Apache) to encrypt(3) the word? I'm generating under windows and with online tools and it's not working. "2009/10/13 20:12:42 [error] 4114#0: *5 user "USER": password mismatch..."

No need to be encrypted.

comment Redirect user to dir upon SFTP connection
That would not help me out, because i have the auto key files in the home/ftp, if i change the home dir, i'd have to move the key file to the public dir, which i do not want.
