comment Windows: How to disable all 3rd party security products?
And she claims she doesn't have Peerguardian, and the other anti-virus products are disabled. i know how poorly designed most AV products are - so i want to disable them. Disabling them is one step short of my next step: formatting the OS, and denying her an admin account.

comment Windows: How to disable all 3rd party security products?
It's the World of Warcraft downloader, and the best explanation is that it cannot establish an outgoing connection. A forum full of people, after bashing Blizzard, are then directed to disable their PeerGuardian. Oh yeah, forgot about that. Works now So i want a way to disable everything - i don't care who wrote it, and what perceived value it has.

comment Which browsers support Window's Low Integrity level?
i am. And while the fixed the high-dpi rendering speed (as well a javascript performance), they made a lot of negative changes that will keep me from using it.

comment Is it normal that my computer uses 1.10G of memory?
"Memory used" is a tricky thing to measure. My program can be using 10,000GB of memory, but only using 150kB of storage on the actual RAM chips. Other memory is shared among dozens of applications (i.e. a dll). If i'm the only one using a 500MB dll, then i get charged with 500MB of memory usage. If 50 programs are using the same dll...then am i using only 10MB? Then there's memory that's "free" but not "available". Only memory that has had zero's written all over it is "available" (and Windows isn't going to zero out all free memory on the computer). Memory in use is a tricky thing.

comment Best way to send large files point-to-point?
This is a very useful question. Computers all over the world are interconnected, but you can't sent a video clip 10 miles without a car.

comment Windows hang instead of waking up from standby
By only reading the title, my answer is "A 3rd-party driver has a bug. Get rid of the driver and/or device". Reading the question confirms this diagnosis. There is a bug in a 3rd party driver that doesn't handle the system being powered down. i'm surprised that nVidia has a bug that nasty in it's drivers; usually only ATI writes drivers that bad - oh wait...

They're all safe, otherwise they wouldn't be in the product. But use AES, since it's the standard.
