comment Is chromecast portable?
Although I haven't tried it, I could see Chromecast having a hard time connecting to hotel WiFi that may have a captive portal where you need to accept a TOS before accessing the internet.

comment Can a website owner/mods tell which addon you are using, like the auto refresh addon?
They may not be able to know which addon you're using, but they can see patterns in your refreshiing which lead them to conclude you're using and automated tool to do it.

comment Finding the IP address of a walled in router
@AlexHolsgrove, yes, but there is at least one cable going from the homeplug to the router. I would just make sure that all the wireless devices that might be connected to that AP are turned off.

comment VirtualBox NAT port forwarding configuration (<1024)
Related question on StackOverflow. I personally like the idea of using iptables if you have access to that, otherwise using nginx or apache to proxy the requests is a viable option as well.

comment Is it possible to connect multiple output screens to single machine
@chetan, shopping recommendations are off topic here. He did tell you you need at least two video cards (cards should be able to drive 2 monitors each) and a motherboard that can fit the two cards you select. Beyond that this question is off-topic.

comment Running DHCP for ipv4 and ipv6 on different servers in the same network
Do you know you need DHCP for IPv6? Usually, your router will just advertise a subnet and your IPv6 machines will auto-configure.

comment Why do I get different connection speeds when using local vs public IP?
@ernie, tracert isn't going to help much.. you'll just see one hop either way, unless you have a way to trace a SFTP packet that is going to be forwarded by the router (tracert packets aimed at the router will never make it to the server behind the router).

comment Which Azure services comprise a basic IIS/SQL web application scenario?
This site has a decent feature by feature comparison. Pretty much unless you know you need it, I'd go with Azure Websites first.

comment access other computer's localhost on home network
@0xDAFACADE, if he can access it using his LAN IP (192.168.1.67) then it is most likely already bound to that IP. I would guess that perhaps a firewall is blocking external connections. Also, does your phone have a 192.168.1.X IP address as well?

comment Does private browsing prevent socket events?
Yeah, many proxies don't play nicely with Web Sockets since its more than normal HTTP traffic.

comment Does private browsing prevent socket events?
It should "just work," as you can see its working for me. Are you behind an HTTP proxy or anything that might be disrupting the connection?
