comment Thermal Pad Size CPU/Heatsink
You need to put down a new pad with each CPU change. Phase-change thermal pads melt when the CPU is in use. Over time, it tends to stick to the CPU and the heatsink. I did a research project with thermal interface material, and I could never get a CPU off without breaking the phase-change pad.

comment How to create folders according to date in Linux?
@SkyBeam: I think you misspelled part of your code: mkdir -p "${FOLDER}/${DATE_DIR}/${DA_DIR}" should be mkdir -p "${FOLDER}/${DATE_DIR}/${DAY_DIR}". Basically you forgot a "Y"

comment Chromium OS on an EEPROM
I don't think you can. Motherborads featuring Splashtop seem to put it on a 512MB flash memory. The Chromium OS builds I see out there need over 1 GB to work.

comment Spin down secondary HDD on Windows 7 HP Notebook
I agree with AttackingHobo that having the swap on the SSD drive isn't good for the life of the SSD. At the same time, if you put it on the HDD you'll add another obstacle to getting your HDD to spin down.

comment How to view POP mail in a web browser
Giving the asker a bunch of names he wouldn't recognize didn't seem the best way to answer. The link takes you to a page that gives a screen shot of each client's look and gives a small description. The main point was that he could install his own webclient.

comment how to move files from one server to another server using scp?
Isn't rsync a better option than scp? Your script wants to copy every file in the directory. If you don't remove files from upload after they've been copied, you'll re-copy them when you run your script next. Also, rysnc comes with a log file.

Unless he plans on creating and deleting the directory over and over, isn't it better that he not include the if statement?
