802.11b has max raw data rate of 11 Mbit/s, which is about 1.4 MBps. But that is maximum data rate. compnetworking.about.com/od/wirelessfaqs/f/maxspeed80211b.htm explains how average data speed is usually much less, about 2-3 Mbit/s.
